starbucks' new policy?

Hubby and I decided yesterday - as did half the people in Raleigh - to walk around Crabtree Valley Mall. It was cold and rainy therefore not much more to do. So, half-way around the upper floor we stopped at the Starbucks. Hubby ordered his usual 800 or so calorie Frappucino and I ordered a Grande decaf. Imagine my surprise when the lady said they stopped making decaf after noon. HUH?
Upon further questioning, I find out that they do not brew the $1.75 decaf coffee after twelve-o'clock. They do, however sell some Decaf Americiana (whatever its name); or as the girl behind the counter explained, "It's basically the same but not the same." So, I ask about the price difference and apparently, that's the "not the same" portion of her idiotic statement. Yes, the afternoon decaf is more expensive, but this time they will give it to me for the plain decaf's price.
Since when do people drink decaf in the mornings? Okay, I'll give that some people can't tolerate any caffeine. But it begs the question: Since when do people STOP drinking decaf after noon? AFTER NOON is exactly the time I START drinking decaf drinks because I don't want to stay up all night.

That No Decaf story seems fishy though, I agree with you, you'd think it would be the other way round. BTW, the Dunkin Donuts coffee is much better :-)

I went to a McD once and they said they were out of hamburgers. I was like, "how can a McD be OUT OF HAMBURGERS?" I complained that time ... head office was as amazed as I was but they took the complaint.
I used to sell coffee for a living ... some people like Americano better than brewed coffee but I don't think it is very good. Heck, Starbucks, get some single cup cones or a couple of french press units.
