All in good fun.
Actually looking for advice about building a home. We are currently in the process of making our never ending selections of tile, granite, carpet, colors, etc.
Looking for advice of good websites or magazines to use a references. HGTV.com has been a good resource as well as Martha Stewart (magazine).
Anyone else have suggestions for me?
We have three more weeks to finalize our selections. Only items we have completed: granite, tile floor for bathroom #2 and #3, and cabinets for kitchen and all bathrooms. Waiting for approval on our outside colors.
Also, trying to make this process as stress free as possible!
Still need to pick
Carpet
Master Bathroom Tile (floor, shower, around tub)
Laundry Room Tile
Interior color (one color for entire house - six choices)
Specialty Color (room of our choice)
Lights
Landscaping
**I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

"Actually looking for advice about building a home."
I would try wood and brick, the one built of straw didn't hold up to good if memory serves correctly.

My thought is do a very durable carpet in the bed #2,#3, and the rec room.
Maybe something a bit nicer in the guest and master.

as far as tile, go with the darkest grout that you can. you will appreciate it in the long run.

Vinyl is standard in the laundry room. Boyfriend (who is paying for the house) thinks vinyl looks cheap. Also, talked with a co-worker who had her vinyl torn b/c of the movement of the w/d.
Not sure you can win in either situation.

I agree, vinyl does look cheap. We put in pergo wood flooring.
