Alright, I'm gonna start off by saying if you are easily offended by religious topics, don't read any further. This question is more than likely gonna have some harsh answers, and due to the nature of the question I'm going to allow it. If it gets personal or is just mean spirited I will delete at my discretion. Be honest, if you ever want understanding you have to be honest. I am doing this blog because of a different blog last night where arguments were clearly starting out of misconceptions and misunderstandings.
State your religion or lack of or whatever, then pick one other to describe how you see them as a group. I am not talking about on an individual basis, as that can clearly differ a great deal...but what are the first thoughts in your mind? Lack of understanding can lead to more arguments than anything else...hopefully, if nothing else this will be educational. What is very important to remember is, this is talking about your views on a group as a whole, NOT on an individual basis. I can't stress that enough. If you are personally insulted by this, then you have tkaen the point of the blog entirely wrong.
...I'll start
I'm an Atheist and will talk about Christians (I know, right off the bat huh?)
As a group I see them guided by their emotions too much. Their feeling of the correctness of their way of life becomes unintentionally oppressive. Not legally, but culturally all others are given a back seat in their worth as citizens. The certianty of their beliefs has them label others as fools/unintelligent/trouble makers. It seems they believe that I believe in a god, I just like playing the "outcast". If it is believe that I actually don't believe, it's just because I don't know enough about it. What I do not see, which disturbs me, is social compassion. Yes there is charity work but sometimes at a cost or with conditions, but as far as punishment or individual rights to someone who is not their own they strike me as cold. In my view, the bible is twisted or parts just left out all together to make their views "divine" all too often. As a group, I see them holding us back from advancement. I see them creating a divide instead of filling it. All groups will have hipocracy, but I see Christians as blind to their own. They believe I am trying to take their faith from them as soon as I mention the word "atheist". They scream live and let live, yet act the oppisite.
This is the first thing that pops in to my head when I think of the group as a whole. I know plenty of Christians that don't fit a single thing I said up there. I guess it's best to call what I wrote above as a stereotype. It's not accurate on a person to person basis at all, but as a whole, there has to be a reason those are the thoughts that pop in to my head.
If you see something you believe is a flat out misconception, please, by all means correct it. Direct your answer at the perceived misconception, not the person. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT make this personal. The question couldn't be any further from an individual personal basis. If I see it happening the offending parties will be deleted and blocked until the blog is off the most recent page. To my christian friends, if I consider you a friend this is not how I see you...please don't take offense. If anyone has a problem with this blog, I ask that you direct it to my personal profile, or the group profile. I'll try to clear anything up or at least speak about your problems as soon as I posssibly can.

I have no problem with any religion providing it does not believe in anything that will harm another human (avoiding medical care, believing others are infidels and do not deserve to live if they don't convert etc).

STATISM.
It's a secular religion to be sure, but the love and worshipful attitude that most collectivists hold toward the government is merely worshipping the one who enslaves you.
Count me among the unbelievers in this case...

And to point out, the question is to pick a religion different than yours and present your personal stereotype.
