what do you love most about your pet?

 Because it's no politics Monday...

I have a miniature dachshund, Molly, who I adopted 2 summers ago from dachshund rescue.  For the most part, she is an absolute sweetheart.  She thinks she is a pit-bull, but she's terrified of all other dogs (and cats) whenever she meets them.  Molly loves playing with her tennis ball, playing fetch and chasing squirrels.  She goes crazy each evening when I return home from work and no matter how bad the day has been, it is all over when I see her.  The only place she likes to be when I am at home is on my lap.   Molly also takes after me, she likes to travel and is well behaved when we fly.  She doesn't mind being in her carrier under the seat in front of me as long as she knows I'm still there.

What do you love most about your pets?

I love my 5 dogs and 2 cats because they are just fun to be around and always make me laugh!

Molly is adorable!!

I have 2 cats. Bella loves only me and has to be under my chin as long as I am near. Dolce is my little sweetie. She loves to rub on you and talk to you in her little choppy meow. They just make me smile ;-)

As some of y'all know, we're owned by 7 Papillon dogs. Each one of them has their own distinct personality, so we love them all and really don't have "favorites," however, Belle, my oldest dog is a mommy's girl, and follows me everywhere, even into the studio where I have a doggie bed for her. They know when I've had a bad day, and when I plop down in the recliner, all seven will jump in my lap and cuddle. (That's the puppy-therapy I refer to on my profile.) They love unconditionally and can make me smile in a heartbeat. :)

My Golden tried to enter conversations between my wife and I. She'd sit and just interrupt us with an occasional "Awwwoooo" with her tail wagging. I wish she could still talk with us now, but she passed away from lymphoma on April 21.

I definitely love my felines...each one is unique in his/her own way which makes them very special. I have several that will walk the hand railing on the staircase instead of taking the stairs. Somw will look through the window blinds to see what is going on outside. They all enjoy the ceiling fans as they spawl out where ever they can to enjoy the breeze.

Its got to be the facial expressions.. always something to make you giggle.

I love both my animals for different reasons.

Savannah-I love her because she really needs to be loved. She is a rescue and abused before I adopted her. She just really, really loves the attention. She is the sweetest dog in the world and I am very lucky to have her.

Dexter-LOL...What can I say about Dexter. He is the clown of our house. He keeps my place free of any bugs that may crawl or fly in. That being said, this comes at a cost. I lost a lamp due to Dexter vs Bee. The bee went up the shade, so did Dexter. Paper shades do not hold the weight of a cat so there is now a cat sized tear in my shade. I can always count on Dexter to make me laugh. Today he put his mouse in a big shopping bag, and then went in after it. He then got stuck in there as he hadn't figured out the whole exiting the way he came in deal. I sat there and LOL for a full 30 seconds before he figured it out. Savannah now has added plastic bags to her list of things that potentially could eat her.

Love all my furbabies-2 dogs, 3 cats. Each has a distinct personality and offer comfort/love in their own way. My newest cat seems to think he's part dog (since the cats won't have anything to do with him) and he makes me laugh when his favorite of the 2 dogs comes in the door and Tobi runs up and grabs her around the neck. It's too funny. And Tobi and the 2 dogs all take turns on the dog bed in the kitchen. The dogs love me no matter what and are always so happy to see me. To me a life without pets is not much of one!

I *would* love one of my rescue dogs immensely if I could just get her housetrained! (Just got them Thursday-patience, I know) Other than that, they're both absolute sweeties!

i love how our chihuahua/rat terrier mix, angel, runs and jumps when you say bug...she loves to try and catch them...

and i totally crack up when my rottie, nick, sits and scratches his front leg because he sticks his tongue with each scratch...he looks so funny!

*he sticks his tongue out...that's much funnier :-)

They'll listen to me and not give me smart-azsed comments like a lot of people do :)

I have 2 goldens and 2 cats. My male golden is thoroughly ruled by all other animals in the house. He waits patiently for everyone else to finish eating, go outside, everything. Except be rubbed. If there is any rubbing to be had, it's his. And he is the nurturer. Nothing he loves any better than to baby whatever comes into my house, kittens, puppies, babies, stuffend animals. The female golden is terrified of storms and will go find one of the boys' bed to hide on. She hates to be outside and prefers to be left alone, except for my male. She is stuck to his side. My orange tabby is very standoffish,,leave him be. I think he was "loved" too much by my then 2 yr old son. My gray tabby is a hoot. She was hand raised due to the mom being killed and thinks she's human. She sits in the dogs food bowl and they eat when she tells them to. She hides and ambushes the dogs. She sits in our chair and tells US when it's our turn. And she is so cuddly

My dogs are just so care free. As long as I feed them and give them a belly rub they're just as happy as they can be! I'm jealous of my dogs.

Holly and Abby will also have running fits in the backyard. Holly will start running and Abby will run along and try to knock her down.

I have 5 cats, and 1 dog.. lets just leave the dog out of this... bc i dont like her that much. Each of my cats have their own personities. Boomer(the female of course) likes for you to rub her, and wants all of your attention and nothing less...Oreo, just like his name, is a sweet heart and will sit and stare at you until you rub him or say his name... Buddy, my gray tail-less cat, is very playful for his "advanced" age and likes to sleep on you even when you don't want him too...Spunky ..well his just lives up to his name, he wants you to play with him, and he will get mean let me tell you, but when you least expect it, he is a HUGE sweet heart...Taty Tot (spunkys twin) will only come to me.. no one else...he is the biggest baby out of them all by far. I don't spend too much time with him bc of the kido that likes to chase him.

all of my cats expect one were rescused. boomer was born into our family from another cat that we had rescused. the dog..well...she doesn't live up to her name, which is Princess. She's wayyyy toooo hugeee and likes to jump on me. And I refuss to beat her like my husband has told me to do.

my cat, Jessica, is a like my best friend. She always wants my attention, loves to sleep with or on me, and shares my meals most of the time. She's 14 1/2 but still very healthy, active, and playful. She doesn't like a lot of people but has warmed up to my girlfriend surprisingly fast

Apparently my two boys don't believe that I can go to the bathroom by myself. They are always more than happy to lend me a helping paw!

...the fact that I don't own one!

I love the fact that my 2 dogs are so different.

Lu is the gf's 7yr old 5lb chichuaua who will ALWAYS let you know if someone is around who shouldnt be; she always loves being chased which works out well since she can get all of her exercise right in the living room.

Corona is my 7yr old 52 lb. mix; adopted her from the humane society. She is the best dog ever; loves being outdoors, chasing rabbits and what not, but also loves just siting with us on the couch. She's definitely the more "chill" dog; just goes with the flow, just like me.

And did I mention that they're both huge canes fans?????

DiOGi and Fluffy (combined weight of 17 lbs/5 lbs being fur) love to snuggle. Great in the winter, not so great in summer. They don't complain at least not out loud and they love me unconditionally!

Gizmo is my almost 6-month old kitty. He was headed to the shelter when we found the ad for him in the classifieds on WRAL. His favorite place to be is on my shoulders. He'll jump up there any chance he gets. He loves to snuggle up for a nap and also loves to play ball with my son. He'll sit by the window and chatter at the birds and squirrels outside, just wishing he could get at them.

Our decision to take Gizmo in was a very quick, unexpected one, but we definitely do NOT regret it one bit.

Hi, Molly looks like a real cutie! I also have a miniature dachshund who is my "doggie daughter." I love everything about her! She is my best friend, my lap warmer, the one I cuddle with every night after I come home from work. She also loves to chase squirrels and cats who wander into our yard, but that is the extent of her braveness! She is shy, but friendly.

My dog (sheltie-poo) makes sure that animals on tv do NOT come out into the living room. She's very vigilant, especially when commercials come on.

Molly is adorable!

I like the fact that Buddy, my Beagle, sleeps with me every night. He always has to be right up against me. I love all our dogs. We have 3. Bessie Mae (another Beagle) and Cricket, (our Yorkie).

Beth

I have a dachshund, too! I absolutely love him for much of the same reasons you described. He brings me so much joy, love and companionship.

My four (originally had 7 - but the years have taken 3 from me)cats are the most fun anyone should have. You do not need a TV when you have animals.....they will keep you in stitches. Have Sugar & Spice from one litter and Rocky & Champagne from another...they are all "throw-aways" kitties that others would not take care of....so I am now Momma to four. Can't imagine my life without fur babies to take care of and love!

Ive miss my baby!!

R.I.P Daissy!!!

Aw, I had two mini dachshunds for 17 wonderful years. My baby died just a few years ago. He would have been 20 this year :/

I love dachshund loyalty. But I have two other dogs that need my attention these days.

I love the fact that he, Dakota, is always near me. He loves my attention and company. I got him shortly after my youngest child went off to school and I call him my baby or my puppy, even after 8 yrs. I even love his "labrasnores".

I have 3 cat's Scuppers, Maddie & Ana I love the fact they are all different Personality wise . They are all very loving and love attention on thier terms . Thus the saying Dogs have masters, Cats have staff!

Oakley is 1 1/2 now - part Akita part Golden. He is such a clown & a tease! He is also very smart which he proved when I took him to a Tricks & Shaping class. I'm glad we rescued Oakley. I love when we have "mommy time" just playing together with his toys. Now if I can only get him to come when called!

I love that no matter what kind of day you have had they love you unconditionally. They are emotional support I have two doxies that I have adopted. Both were older when I adopted them. I adopted my first one from daschaund rescue and the other came from the Wayne Co animal shelter. I also have my youngest one who I have had since she was a baby. They all are over 10 years old now. I would like to make one more comment-to the people who just toss animals out on the sides of the roads, how would you like it if someone did that to you??? I have been helping to feed a puppy that was dumped out. He was skin and bones when I found him on a busy two lane road in Lenoir county. For over three weeks he dodged cars and we kept him alive with food and water. You see, we could not get him to come to us as he was scared of people. Gee...I wonder why To all the animal lovers-thanks for being there for the animals of the world with your love and commitment.

I love all my animals, indoors and out. Life would be so incomplete without them. The cats all have different needs, personalities; the dogs (that own me) are my protection, comfort, and joy. People that don't love animals do not have a heart- I would not call one of them a "friend". Look how many animals save lives- special needs dogs, canine rescuers, etc, etc. I consider my animals better than a lot of people out there in this world and definitely more loyal.
