Summer 1973: Grandpa and me

HOLLY SPRINGS — My grandmother sent me a few pictures last year and this one just warms my heart. The decked out dude with the afro is my late grandfather, Rev. Wyman Cobb Jr.

The little tot in the overalls and with very little hair is me. And the older girl is my cousin Tonya.

My grandfather was everything to me. He died on Christmas Day of 1983 and my memories of him are still very vivid. Boy did he keep my mother in line! I certainly enjoyed seeing that!

He was the best cook, a prolific pastor and the best grandfather in the world.  He was also an Engineer at Ford Motor Company. This picture was taken in the backyard of my childhood home on Riverside Drive in Detroit, Michigan.

Boy do I miss him.  R.I.P Grandpa.
