the miracle of technology

If I have any skills as a writer -- and I do not myself claim that I do, but if history proves it to be so -- I can say with certainty that it is because of the miracle of word processing.
I just wrote a fairly lengthy email to a co-worker. When it was finished, it looked almost nothing like what it was shaping up to be when i began. The paragraph at the bottom wound up at the top and vice versa. The end result flows (in my eyes, anyway) better, is formatted more cleanly, and will hopefully be more useful to my co-worker.
And let me tell you, the first draft was ugly, and had this been the days of typewriters or hand-written memos, he probably would have gotten that first draft, wondered what I was thinking, and tossed it in the trash.
Much like my middle school English teachers when faced with my book reports -- all pre-word processing, of course.
