warning for my friends, i am not lost in nigeria
Published Dec. 1, 2008I received this bogus email this morning, asking for my help. I know the redneck chick I got it from is not anywhere near any seminar in Nigeria! LOL!! But just so ya'll know, the scammers are out there, poised and ready
Hi,
It is with profound sense of sadness i wrote this email to you. I don't know how you will find this but you just have to forgive me for not telling you before leaving. I traveled down to Nigeria Yesterday for a seminar but unfortunately, all my money and all other vital documents were stolen during the robbery at the hotel where i lodged.
I find things difficult here and i don't know what to do at the moment because all the connections to phone were all disconnected and the only source left are the computer in the hotel cafe. I email to ask if you can lend me $2,500.00 so i can settle the hotel bill and return home. Please do me this great help and i promise to refund the money as soon as i get back home.
I asked one of the attendant here if they could accept credit card but i was told that the only means of receiving money here in Nigeria is through Western Union. Please let me know if you can help me so i can forward the details to you.
I look forward to your positive response.
Just to let all my friends know, I am NOT lost in Nigeria. If you get an email from "me" in the near future, be sure to laugh as much as I did.

Hey - on the Tucker deal a couple of weeks ago - it was not a goiter it was an abcessed snake bit. Poor guy had to have surgery to get drains put in, spend the night then come home and be babied for 5 days. I felt so bad for him - and am glad it is cold enough now I hope all the cursed snakes in the world die! Whatever kind it was, he got bit in my back yard. UGH.

Yes I know many fall for most of these SCAMS which is sad...Pray mostly on our elderly who do not know how to look up if it is a SCAM or not.
BTW glad to see you got back safely from Nigeria *wink*
