ask anything: naacp president takes your questions
Published Dec. 1, 2008Whenever the NAACP is mentioned in a story on WRAL.com, a flood of comments is sure to follow.
Whether it’s a story about racist graffiti at N.C. State or controversial comments made by Johnston County’s sheriff, one thing is certain: Rev. William Barber has something to say about it.
Rev. Barber is president of the state NAACP and possibly the most vocal member of the group. All this week, he is taking your questions.

Again I see you are talking out of both sides of your mouth. You call me obese yet you say you don't label me. You say I don't have a good command of the English language (which says I'm not intelligent) but you say you don't label me.
I don't particularly like Mr. Barber, but I will not stoop to attacking his personal appearance. Youo seem to have the biggest problem with it. Are you going to take care of his children if he dies prematurely. No I doubt it. So why do you care. For all we know you have a wart on your nose, one leg shorter than the other no hair and a horn sticking out of the side of your head.

By your train of thought- anyone with flaws shouldn't hold a position of power. Using that (faulty) logic, President Elect Obama is also a "deeply flawed" man by choosing to smoke, risking lung cancer and various other illnesses. I guess we were wrong in electing him as his personal decisions have proven he is unfit to run the country.
And before anyone starts, I am a smoker myself, not a memeber of the NAACP but don't have anything against them and I voted for Obama. So I am not trying to bash anyone here.

He is fat. Immensely fat. He is ill due to his obesity. You think that is nothing. Did you hear his wheezing when you heard him speak? Do you think his children will miss him when he dies too young? Or do you think that morbid obesity does not increase one's likelyhood of untimely death. I hope he lives a rich and long life. I do not like that he does not take care of himself in the way a responsible adult and parent and "community leader" should.
So, to sum up - only you have labeled yourself here. I wish Mr. Barber a long life. He is fat. He is infantile in his denial of his own health issues. Said infantilism is a character defect. You may choose to follow any leader you care to, but you should understand that Barber is a deeply flawed human being. There you have it.

because they're a poor excuse for a human, and a terrible example (although fairly common) of a christian.
