QUICK FACTS ON HIV/AIDS IN NORTH CAROLINA
- 33,000 North Carolinians are living with HIV disease – some of whom do not even know they have HIV
- 4,000 people are living with HIV in the Triangle area, and official estimates are that at least 25 percent more are unaware of their status.
- HIV disproportionally affects African Americans, women and gay and bisexual men … folks whose health and well-being have traditionally been a low priority.
- The South represents only 37 percent of the federal population and that in 2005, 41 percent of Americans with HIV lived in the South. Today, three years later, it’s home to 45 percent of new AIDS cases.
- According to the CDC, 50 percent of all American AIDS deaths occur in the South--meaning our region has become the new US epicenter for AIDS

Some people must remember not only do people get this because of unprotective sex or drug use...some have gotten it because of tainted blood, organs received, trusting a partner has been faithful, etc.
One lady in Tampa would bring a homeless man a sandwich or bite to eat daily. She was rushed one morning and had forgotten...he stabbed her with a dirty needle.
The 3 Brothers who had a bleeding disorder all contracted HIV/AIDS because of tainted blood...their home was set on fire because neighbors were scared, they had no Friends because Parents were scared, etc.
Look at Elizabeth Glazier and her Daughter...
Just remember HIV/AIDS does not always mean...gays having sex, unprotected sex, nor druggies.

But the AIDS lobby has created a false image of a completely containable disease that is about to infect and kill the world. That is the furthest thing from the truth. However, their political lobbying has forced billions of dollars away from all those other diseases into AIDS -- and tens of millions die because of it.
THAT is what is sickening.
