oh come on! light-en up a little.
Published Nov. 26, 2008Would you be so enraged at seeing the infamous cartoon that portrayed Mohammed saying they had run out of virgins in heaven?
Earlier, I didn't notice the image in question, but I don't find it terribly offensive because I know that Jesus is strong enough to sustain a little ribbing. My faith is strong enough to endure a few jokes. If you want to get upset, read up on the Inquistions and the Salem Witch Tirals. Or, look up the origin of "trial by fire." My friends, Christians are not perfect, and they don't always do what Jesus would do.
Call it satire or whatever, but you can see that the image had an impact.
Christianity has survived a long time, and it will survive GOLO.
Any thoughts?

Being a Christian was hard in the beginning, and still is in many places. Where Christianity or Islam or Judaism are dominant, then it is going to be hard to be otherwise.
People of a common faith have conflict, so how much harder it must be for those of differing faith, except that they separate from one another more.
I don't want to offend anyone regarding something as solemn as their faith, so I would not want to be one who did so.
