I went to my local Food Lion yesterday as usual on a Sunday afternoon. When I walked in I immediately noticed Spanish music playing from the speakers. I waited to see if it changed back to English. It eventually did, but I wrote the corporate headquarters and told them this is an English-speaking country and to stop catering to illegals (and legal immigrants). If they choose to come here they need to learn the language! I'm not sure if that store can control what's played or if it's controlled somewhere else, but it needs to stop. Immediately. I told them if I go back in there and hear Spanish again I will never shop at another Food Lion. Ever. Anywhere. It won't hurt their business that much if I boycott them since I don't spend a lot of money there, and maybe they laughed when they saw my email, but we have to start standing on principle.
I'm sure they will tell me that we live in a "diverse" country and they aim to please "all their customers". I will let y'all know what their response is.
