Today kicks-off a week of Thanksgiving foods.
When it comes to Thanksgiving foods, there are certain unspoken laws. For example, your mother-in-law always makes the candied yams, and if someone else brings a second dish of them -- you simply don't touch the extra dish under penalty of death. A second law around my family's Thanksgiving table is the ceremonial, "These are turnips, these are potatoes" declaration. Once you mistake a heap of turnips for mashed potatoes, you will never EVER make that same mistake again!
We've had sweet potato cake for Thanksgiving before, along with the traditional candied sweet potatoes. Most recently, I've become a fan of sweet potato casserole with buttered pecans on top. Since today's picture is of sweet potatoes, how does your family prepare this iconic dish?

Java, I'm getting a disk tomorrow of all my christmas decorating pic's from yesterday. I'll try to post them sometime this week, I just have to figure out how ! We have some really good ones...have a great week.
