Go to WRAL homepage, to the right under Todays' video and click on the elderly woman...that's my granny. She lost everything. She is from Lucama.
Also, the pic to the left with the two victims. the 60 year old Maryland Gomez lived down the road from me. I'm speechless today and will be mourning. I will see y'all later in the week. ♥ ya!
I will add later in the week how special Maryland was and how TERRIFIC my granny is. The devastation in my granny's eyes is killing me today. What to do?? My heart is completely ripped apart.
Ok, I'm leaving work now to go help my family with granny's belongings(the few that she could salvage)...
The Gomez Family:
They arrived in the US approximately 30 years ago from Colombia. They lived in New York for years before they moved here to NC. One day about 4 years ago I had a Chrysler for sale in the front yard and Mr.Gomez stopped and bought the car. After that, we all became good friends. He works as a jeweler in Goldsboro and she was a homemaker and breeded yorkie pups.. Maryland would continiously cook for us and drop it by after I would get home from work. Once, when Kenly was having their 4th of July celebration we invited them to go see the fireworks because they have never been. That will be the funniest, craziest night I will always cherish. Maryland was scared to death. It was hilarious. Kenly has lost a very good citizen.
