My Mother-in-Law's House

Notice the column from her front porch that is now on the roof of the house.  The front porch is in the field behind her house--which is across the street from where our path meets the road.  The building at the end of her driveway is in shambles.  The siding is in the trees.  My husband uploaded the pictures to WRAL earlier today.

I looked out my front window this morning and just stared in amazement at the wheelbarrow still sitting upright, my patio table and chairs in the same place they were yesterday, and the swingset with the swings blowing in the breeze.  I can't believe it missed us.

I heard it.  The sound was so loud, the wind was blowing so hard.  I was beating my husband trying to wake him up--Greg was saying "Five Points Road and Wood's Crossroad's, Blackman's Crossroads, Peacock's Crossroads".  Then everything went silent.  The wind stopped.  We just kind of looked at each other.  Then the phone rang.  My mother-in-law's house was hit by the tornado.  Everyone is fine, she had some damage to property, but those things can be replaced.

I don't ever want to be that close to a tornado again!!!
