When I went to vote, I was greeted by a volunteer who offered me a "sample ballot" with all of Democratic candidates highlighted. I am a Democrat, but this just ticked me off. I politely informed the volunteer that I had already researched my choices. I guess I was ticked off because it made the party look bad.

my brother and I are roommates so we rode together. I live in a small town and they only had 8 booths. he of course had to go ahead of me so he got the last one, so i had to wait a few minutes. I was there only about 15 mins. When I had left I realized I had managed to put my jacket on inside out. lol

My wife, daughter and I voted at 10:15 am today on Alston in Durham - no problems, no lines, took less than 10 minutes to get in and out. Very helpful precinct workers, especially in explaining the "party ticket" and that you had to vote for President/VP separately as well as the non-partisan offices and the 1% food tax even if you voted a straight party ticket. That was helpful and should result in better voting for everyone. Great experience. A little wet, rainy and cool, but overall a great time!

I voted this morning in Cary. At 8:30, I was fourth in line. They had set up tables in addition to the booths, for people who didn't mind not being secretive about who they were voting for. I was about the 350th voter at that site. The workers said that the line had been longer earlier, but it had been a steady pace ever since. I figure average time between arrival and leaving was running around 15 minutes.

Don't let the predictions of long lines discourage you, folks! Get out and vote!

And thanks to all of you who braved the long lines to vote early: because you voted early, less people will be discouraged by long lines today.

My husband and I took the kids Saturday to vote in Fuquay. We waited a good 45 minutes to an hour, but it was of course worth the wait.

Voted at about 10:45 in NE Wayne County. No wait. In and out. Very nice. Even had the chance to help one lady (who asked for my help) by explaining how straight party/individual selection of candidates was done on the ballot sheets. She was very thankful to have it explained and it made me feel good to have helped her out and ensure her vote counted.

The machine at Cedar Creek (in Fayetteville)went down just after 6:30am. We had to put our votes in the "emergency slot" of the machine for them to scan when it was fixed. Not sure I liked that or not, but did it anyway.

At 6:30 this morning in the Cedar Creek township (Fayetteville) there was already a line to vote. The line moved fairly easy, but there was limited places to sit or stand to vote. Not enough space for the amount of people that were there. The people working the polls were pleasant as always. Worst part is I had many voters parked in my yard instead of the building they were to vote at. I've had this problem before and the Board of Elections tell me there is nothing they can do about it except for me to put up a barrier or chain. It would be OK if the some of the people had more respect and did not throw political fliers down in my yard, or ride all over the grass.

Voting this morning at Youngsville Baptist Church was a breeze. Got there at 6:15am, and was out by 6:45. My daughters' first time voting today as well. Never voted that early before, but plan to again in the future. Voting staff were friendly, helpful, and organized !

I arrived at Wakefield Middle this morning around 6:15 and was home around 6:55. They moved the line along pretty fast and I think the early voting helped.
