let's spread the wealth around.

Published Oct. 13, 2008

I usually don't quote Fox News because its reports are so quickly dismissed by liberals and most Democrats but this story includes a nice video.

Obama to Plumber: My Plan Will 'Spread the Wealth Around'

"Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it?" the plumber asked, complaining that he was being taxed "more and more for fulfilling the American dream."

"It's not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success too," Obama responded. "My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody ... I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

Here's the video:

You can vote for him if you want but he's told all of you, up front, exactly what he intends to do IF he gets elected.

"I'm prepared to pay extra tax in order to help those less fortunate than me." -- JohnnyMcRonny

What's stopping you? You can legally write a check to the U.S. government and have them spend it anyway you would see fit. But, for most people, volunteering to help out others is called charity and is something you do on your own, not something that is forced onto you.

Obama's plan is wealth re-distribution, pure and simple. Seize money that is earned by those who take incredible risks to run a business and hand it out to those who do not earn it.

I doubt any of you would like it if I or one of your neighbors knocked on your doors and demanded you give me money. Obama supporters seem to want this to happen. Be careful what you wish for.

Remember when Clinton got elected by promising tax cuts to the middle class? What happened? Oh, yeah, he told us that no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't find a way to make the tax cut work, and increased our taxes.

Obama wants to implement tax increases to those who hire employees (increasing corporate taxes is essentially a tax on the goods purchased by us, so we're hit again). He wants to have universal health care. He wants to eliminate the Bush tax cuts (will be the largest tax increase in our history).

Say hello to the Carter years revisited.

"It stillboils back down tht the president cna't do anything unless congress approves it." -gone with the wind/ladyblue

Checks and balances and Congress have nothing to do with goals, policies, idealogies and agendas created by the President. Regardless if the policies are actually realized or not, they are still HIS policies, and by default become the policies of HIS administration.

Folks, defend Bush all you want, from here until the cows come home, the moon turns blue, and pigs do backflips, but no-one else can be held accountable for the President's policies except for the President himself.

It stillboils back down tht the president cna't do anything unless congress approves it. Even goin into Iraq...............They can stop any of his policies they wish by voting it down. Ome man and especially the pres can't do it without help from congress. Thats a fack Jack. The the reasoning behind our checks and balances in Washington.

"There is one thing you all seem to forget about Washington and the money spent. First Bush has to ask. Congress has to agree and involves democrats..." -waiting for the change/gone with the wind/ladyblue

Folks, defend Bush all you want, from here until the cows come home, the moon turns blue, and pigs do backflips, but no-one else can be held accountable for the President's policies except for the President himself.

Congress and the presidents have sold us lock, stock & barrel to the Chinese and Mexico, starting with Reagan on through the current administration. Yes, even the Clintons pushed it.

I realize that NAFTA was passed by a Rep Congress and a Dem president, but the deregulation started far earlier.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but the deficit we owe to China and Japan has to do with Nafta agreement and we are not of balance on the exports and imports factor. Isn't that the reference to that deficit of trade. The doc gave me some lunesta to get me on a sleep track and I just took one so it seems I must get off the talking but it has been interesting. Didn't know it would work that fast. i get to go to seep tonight before 4 and 6 in the am. What a night I will have with restful sleep.good night everyone check out my profile with the flying witch

Illegals - so your argument is that I shouldn't vote for him because I'll be sorry if I do?

Sigil.......I could care less who is supporting him, you will all be crying the blues in two years or less if he gets in!! I read lots and lots before I decide who to vote for. I don't vote in a category if I don't know something about the people who are running for that office, where others will blindly vote not knowing anything about a candidate...not just talking about the president, but other offices too.

None of these blogs will change my opinion, nor yours I suspect. I go for tried and true areas of unbiased reporting....not that there is much of that left anymore!!

DJ, you're very right. I'm a pretty good judge of character and nothing I've seen leads me to think he isn't sincere.

McCain, however, gives me the willies.

And I know that the change is going to be scary, but the CHANGE IS ALREADY HERE. Nothing McCain proposes recognizes that fact, nor will it do anything other than continue the mess we're in now.
