Its a snowy morning here. We had about 2 and a half inches last night and they are calling for another couple today!! It's a SNOWCREAM DAY!!!

Hey John!!! It's been a while since I've seen you in here. O hope you are doing well! Nice picture of the snow. Hey, I got an idea! Can't you make a pumpkin-shaped snowball, carve it out, and paint to orange for Halloween? Just don't use yellow snow like OldRebel said.....

Just so you guys know...you do kind of get "used to" the cold, but hey, I get cold just like anyone else!! The older I get, it seems the colder and longer the winters are!! The cold is somehow different here, but believe me, 40-50 below zero is COLD!! Heavy duty COLD!! I know you have heard of "once it gets below __ (fill in the temp) it is just cold. Well, to some degree that is true, BUT, different things happen at different temps. One can go out at 50 below and shoot a hot cup of coffee in the air and very little to none will hit the ground....it just goes SSSSHHHHH and makes a big cloud in the air. It precipitates out very slowly and if you come back in about a half hour, there will be a big brown stain on the snow. Its weird. I have seen it done on YouTube. You can check it out...its wild!! Oops reread what I wrote. That should be could not survive. Hot house for me. I can't stand being cold.

LOL, You're getting snow and the leaves just ARE beginning to change here.

I'm hoping we get some snow this year.

I love snow. But only watching the snowfall. My favorite time of the year is summer. I think that I could survive the winter there.

LadyBlue, no reason to be sorry!! We are in a pretty small town. It is the second largest city in Alaska, next to Anchorage, which is a city. (Half of the population on Alaska lives within an hour drive of Anchorage, our population is approx. 35000 in town and 80000 in the surrounding area.) If you like to look at snow, you can look anytime from now until next April or May!! This will be on the ground till then. They are saying we will have 3-6 inches with this one, and then cooler. Once snow is established on the ground, and the river freezes (probably tomorrow it will freeze) then the temp starts to be more like winter. I think the high today will be in the mid 20s and that is what they are calling for all next week for highs...nice temps for this time of year.

John I'm sorry I took that for the parking lot cause I see a lot of cars in and out. I thought that might be the back parking lot to some bars. Oh My I'm sorry. You got a smaller main street than I grew up in. As I said I look often at the cam, looking for snow and different folks maybe in the flick. You are really close then. Maybe they'll get happy drunk in one of the bars and make a snowman this year. I noticed tht old church back there. They alway tear down the good things.
