Here's a rare substitution in my Picture of the Day planned images. As some of you may know, I have the rest of the year's daily images planned already. But I thought this photo I snapped today was too funny to pass over.
I walked through the house today, glanced out the backdoor, and saw my neighbor's cat crouched and crawling very slowly toward the bird feeders. I ran to grab my camera then, lo-and-behold, I had to change the lens so I could zoom-in on the action. As soon as I held up my camera, the cat gracefully tip-toed to beneath the bird feeder, then took aim at the poor bird. That's when I snapped this picture. Then the cat jumped into the air, the bird flew away safely, and the cat held onto the feeder for a few seconds. Unfortunately, I wasn't fast enough to snap a photo of the cat hanging to the feeder for dear life.
It was quite a sight, and nobody was harmed or injured. The bird escaped safely. The cat landed on its feet. I snapped the picture. And that's my picture of the day.
