Used to go to a lot of concerts years ago. Was a lot of fun and I saw some great performances here in different venues in N.C. Got to see Mother's Finest several times over the years. Each time seemed better than the time before.
I guess my favorite time with them was at this concert. I believe it was Campbell, but it may have Elon. Anyways I had my little Canon T-50 35mm and was snapping away dreaming I'd someday be a great photojournalist specializing in concerts...LOL...and got down right by the stage while Baby Jean was singing her heart out. You know how people always hold their hands out toward the stage to the performer and you know how it seems like it's never anything other than that. There I was, jammin' with Mothers Finest, having a great time, holding my hand out like all the other okies there at the stage and then IT happened! Baby Jean bent over and touched my outstretched hand with her elongated fingernail. I'm not telling you a lie, but when our eyes met as the fingernail ever so lightly brushed my hand it was like a jolt of electricity went through my entire body. I've never had that physical reaction to anyone before or since. Well, not in public and in a way I can recount on GOLO. ;) But I really did feel something that night.
Ever since I've always had a special spot for almost anything I hear from Mothers Finest. Wish they could have made it bigger, but maybe it's better they did just what they did and this way it feels more personal. I've always kinda hoped maybe Baby Jean felt that same jolt of 'elcktwicity' from that touch...yet I'm not quite hayseed enough to really believe she might have. But...it doesn't hurt to hope and pretend...does it? LOL If I could only get my phone number to her now...;)
P.S. I added some old, old pictures I dug out of my dusty closet from a long ago concert where a 22 year OldRebel felt lightning strike and lived to tell about it. Pix are in my image galleries.
