barney frank's fanniemae love interest

Has anyone heard a story about this?  Something about a potential conflict of interest because Barney was having an afair with a bigshot at FannieMae?

If you know, please advise

well, he WAS having an affair with a Fanniemae bigshot - for 10 years...all the while he was serving on the committe that was supposed to have oversight for that institution. We already know he didn't do anything to improve oversight until the last 2 years, that he did nothing to improve oversight. Is it a crime, probably not. Should he have recused himself? Of course! But Democrats don't do that until they get caught with their hands in the cookie jar, and even then they don't step down unless forced. Republicans ALSO do nothing until caught, but at least they typically leave office.

Would be best to do the research and then put it on a blog. Making unfounded statements isn't a good thing even posed as a question.

Barney Frank is the leading dem on the finance committee. He would have to be careful about any relationship that could look like influence. I'd be surprised if it were true, but it will come out if it is.

It would not surprise me. I'd lke to see all of them prosecuted. The bailout makes me sick to my stomach.

LOL@oldreb - I agree - I found several articles that mentioned Frank's mounting scandal! Anyway, from what I found, it appears that this could in no way be nearly the conflict of interest of say Diane Fienstein who made Billions - with a "b" from military construction contracts when she was on the milcon committee and her hubby was being awarded those contracts... So, I think we can move along on this story. Although I DID discover that Ann Lewis, Hillary Clinton's secretary is Barney Frank's sister...Didn't know that little tidbit...but now that I think baout it, I CAN see the family resemblance

Huge conflict of interest but the press just wants it left alone. Frank was one of the biggest defenders of Fannie Mae and he went out of his way to prevent any further regulations on it. Now it's everyone's fault but his.

johnny - may or may not be relevant...depends on waht comes out as the investigation into what happened moves forward...don't you want to know if there were conflicts of interest that led to this meltdown? nevermind...

Caught a little bit about it..Apparantly he was in a relationship with Herb Moses, (one of the executives), but this was around 10 years ago.
