i'm not a christian because of how i vote?
Published Oct. 1, 2008Yes! That is what a friend of mine told me. She actually distanced herself from me and stated that she believes that ALL Christians should support the McCain/Palin ticket. She said that her church even teaches against voting for a democrat.
My eyes got wide as I listened to her speak. She literally told me that she will have to move on because we are not on the same "level". LOL! I mean it does not hurt me any that she does not want to associate with me. I just feel sorry for her. She said that a vote for Obama is a vote against Christ! I was like huh?
Have any of you heard such of a thing? What does your leader at your church encourage you to do? I mean she is really going to leave my group. LOL. I have a group that some friends and I get together and pray, have bible study, discuss things, etc. She said she will not participate anymore. LOL.
I am totally in shock of her mindset. Is her Pastor brainwashing his flock? It's just bizarre to me. My leaders never get that involved in who we decide to vote for. As a matter of fact, they rarely discuss it. They teach us the word of God and teach us to get a relationship with God for ourselves and get some discernment. But to tell me who to vote for is cultish to me. smh.
What are your thoughts on this?

Same could be said for Hinduism, which predates all the other gods/religions! :)

In reality, there is nothing in the US Constitution that forbids clergy from expressing opinion from the pulpit nor should there be. Freedom of speech means just that. If a member of that church doesn't agree, they can speak up or move on. Of course, if you are like Obama and slept through 20 years of sermons, you probably won't have to make a decision.
