If they are doing the right thing, then I praise them, and wish them well.

I understand what you are saying. The cost of the RW's Ball is $35 dollars and that money will ONLY cover the cost of the ball.
The team ball can be purchased for charities but it is more for the fans of the Heels.
You can say what you want about other charity organizations but I think the Heels are doing a good thing here.

My family does donate to the Jaycee Burn Center, both monitarily and with time through their summer camp program. And if someone just came on here with a blog asking for $160 for a charity such and such, then I think it would be more receptive, at least for me anyways.
I just have seen the money for these types of things go towards other things in the past, and not all of it made it to the charity like it should have. Then I feel like I have been lied to and robbed. Does this make sense to you?

HHmmm...this is exactly why the policy was put in place. The teams were being inundated with requests for items. There are also NCAA rules are regulations which preclude proceeds to go to certain individuals (prospect aged kids).
One note, the Roy Williams' autographed basketball went down in price this year. The RW ball is available ONLY to charities.
