barack obama agrees with john mccain again and again and again

Published Sep. 27, 2008

John McCain and Senator Barack Obama particapated in the first presidential debate at the University of Mississippi on Friday evening. Once again, John McCain showed without a doubt that he is ready to be Commander in Chief from day one. Senator McCain's answers were clear, direct, and heartfelt. Barack Obama, by contrast, repeatedly evaded questions and directly contradicted previous statements that he has made.

One of the most telling aspects of the debate was how often Senator Obama agreed with John McCain. On major point after major point, Barack Obama said that he agreed with John McCain. Senator Obama even agreed with John McCain's call for reforming and eliminating earmarks, despite the fact that Obama has requested $ 932 million in earmarks during the past three years.

McCain's Performance at First Debate Earns Rave Reviews

David Yepsen, Des Moines Register:

It was one of the most substantive debates in recent presidential campaign history and John McCain won it. The Arizona senator was cool, informed and forceful in Friday's first presidential debate of the general election campaign. He repeatedly put Barack Obama on the defensive throughout the 90 minutes session. Obama did little to ease voter concerns that he's experienced enough to handle foreign and defense policy. That was his number one task Friday night and he failed.

Roger Simon, The Politico:

John McCain was very lucky that he decided to show up for the first presidential debate in Oxford, Miss., Friday night. Because he gave one of his strongest debate performances ever. While Barack Obama repeatedly tried to link McCain to the very unpopular George W. Bush, Bush's name will not be on the ballot in November and McCain's will. And McCain not only found a central theme but hit on it repeatedly. Obama is inexperienced, naive, and just doesn't understand things, McCain said.

Pittsburgh Tribune Review:

Throw in his bumbling, stumbling and naivete on national security and foreign policy and Barack Obama came across last night as exactly what he is -- one of the most inexperienced politicians ever nominated for president. And John McCain never looked more presidential.

Debate Fact Check: Barack Obama Repeatedly Stretches The Truth

On Iran:

Obama said that "I was called naive when i suggested that we need to look at exploring contacts with Iran, and, you know what? President Bush recently sent a senior ambassador, B ill Burns, to participate in talks with the Europeans around the issue of nuclear weapons." This comment both overstates the case and does not accurately reflect Obama's position. Obama has said he would begin direct talks with Iran on its nuclear program without preconditions, a stance that has worried key European allies.

On Taxes:

During Friday's presidential debate, Sen. Barack Obama provided a loose interpretation of his tax plan, saying that those making less than $250,000 a year "will not see one dime's worth of tax increase." It's not entirely true. Obama has called for higher taxes on income, capital gains and dividends for individuals making $200,000 per year; his tax plan imposes higher taxes on couples starting at $250,000 a year.

On Energy:

In addressing the issue of energy independence, Senator Barack Obama claimed during the debate tha t he was generally supportive of nuclear power, clean coal, and offshore drilling. However, statements made by himself and his running mate just in the past three months indicate otherwise.

In June, Barack Obama harshly criticized John McCain's plan to drill offshore. Here is what he told a Las Vegas audience about offshore drilling, "It doesn't make sense for America," Obama said. "In fact, it makes about as much sense as McCain's proposal to build 45 new nuclear reactors without a plan to store the waste some place other than right here at Yucca Mountain," the Illinois senator said.

And just last week, Senator Joe Biden was caught telling a young woman that the United States should not build any new coal plants and that investing in clean coal technology was a bad idea.

Manofjustice has to be posting tongue-in-cheek. Although I know there are people that crazy out there.......

If you read through the Washington Post Fact Checker, it notes that BOTH candidates distorted and stretched some of the truth to their own advantage.

MOJ is trying to tell us that he has a prophecy the Obama is the antichrist I guess. Some folks have been saying this, but I know different now. He's not important enough to be the antichrist.

MOJ, not only do you give democrats a bad name, you do that to Christians too.

MOJ, your posts are amusing and silly. The Bible is a book of fiction and if you want to base your life on that book then "gawd" bless you! LOL

Haha....I think MOJ is drunk viking416

Lips of wine will never touch mine and vaginas of scotch will never touch my crotch cause I am saved and I am drunk with the Lord.

MOJ, I think even Obama would be a little confused at this point. As I said, I like Obama myself, but you are turning this whole exchange into a religious circus. That's what turns people off.

Haha....I think MOJ is drunk

People, why do you respond to MOJ. Jeez. Winston

Because I am the light, I am the way sayeth the Lord. I am a man of justice and a man of hope in this world in which we live. I am on a path of righteousness and I am making non-believers into believers. Obama, Jesus and I will prevail in a world of despair. I will pray for you and rid you of your sins. If I can save one soul then I am doing my duty. Praise Him and all we be forgiven. Bless you my child.

I wish people would drop the whole religious thing....this fiction has caused too many wars.....
