"Principal: Cheerleaders show more than spirit in uniforms
Hope Mills, N.C. — Cheerleaders at South View High School can no longer wear their uniforms to school on Fridays before football games because the principal says they violate the dress code.
Principal Brian Edkins said the skirts of the cheerleaders' uniforms are too short, and he ordered the cheerleaders to wear jeans or sweat pants, along with football jerseys, to school.
"The cheeerleading skirts didn't meet the dress code. They were in violation," Edkins said.
South View High's dress code prohibits "clothing that reveals undergarments, chest, breast, navel, buttocks or any private body part." The skirts clearly skirted some of those areas, he said.
The cheerleaders wore the same uniforms last year after they were approved by the school's athletic director. Edkins cracked down this year after a parent complained that other female students were sent being home for wearing similarly short skirts."
Now it's obvious that there are those that think a partial caboose peeking out from a skirt is not proper attire for a student in school. Quite obvious since an irate parent complained, probably after her sweet little Lolitta got sent home for showing more than the dress code allows. It does strike one as kind of odd, that a skirt that does rise to such occasion is not to be allowed in a sedate classroom setting whereas the same skimpyness and 'show it to the world' fashion is extolled along the sidelines where there are chorus line kicks toward the crowd along with ...well, if you've seen any kind of cheeleading, you've now got that image in your head.
So since these skimpy little skirts have rased the ire of at least one santimonious parent (that didn't have a problem with it until her own lil darling was sent home for following the hem line to dizzying heights where no man has dared scale) (possibly) , we suggest this new fashion from our friends in the Great Sandbox. The dark outfit should cause no one to have lustful or liscentious thoughts about the little darlings, and the cheerleaders wont have to waste a lot of time getting their eye shadow and hair fixed "just so " for an athletic event.
