new fence in tx is working!!
Published Sep. 20, 2008Looks like the new fence along the TX border is working.... but it's catching the wrong species, in my opinion.

How so? The 14th amendment protects citizens rights.."All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside." It doesn't apply to those who enter the country through other than legal processes...

He was proposing that private citizens stop and question other people, not law enforcement. Fitting that to your posting, how would you feel about it if I, a private citizen, cut your car off, came up to your window and demanded to see your driver's license?

How can they press charges? If I'm caught without my driver's license driving the cops don't tell me to go home and get it but they issue me a ticket.

My mistake. That said, what you are proposing runs up against a whole lot of laws that would have to be changed and, IMO, runs the risk of slamming into the 14th Amendment as well.

please go back to my original post on the matter...denying them the reason to come here is the most effective way to stop it. The enforcement that I was talking about would be to issue citations to the local businesses hiring undocumented workers. Not a big stretch for existing resources.

Okie dokie, and when the person you've questioned turns out to have a green card or to be a citizen, they're within their rights to press charges against you, correct?

Profiling. Ask questions. If you don't get a response in english, request a green card. If you don't get a green card, put em on the bus.
