mccrory releases ad on stem cell research

Charlotte, N.C. – Mayor Pat McCrory, the Republican nominee for governor, today released a new television advertisement in response to Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue’s misleading and negative ad on stem cell research. McCrory supports adult and amniotic stem cell research -- the type of research that scientists say is the safest and most effective and avoids destroying human life.
McCrory’s ad features his sister, Linda Sebastian. Below is the transcript:
Pat McCrory: "I am Pat McCrory, candidate for governor, and I approved this ad."
Linda Sebastian: "Beverly Perdue promised a positive campaign but is running tasteless, dishonest ads. Using a victim of a terrible disease for political gain is shameful. Pat McCrory supports stem cell research when a human embryo is not destroyed. I know Pat McCrory cares deeply about people, because he’s my brother. And I watched his anguish over both our parents’ long illnesses. Pat will do the right thing."
