any kayakers out there?
Published Sep. 6, 2008I'm thinking about trying kayaking for recreation among some other activities. Feeling the need to get outside more and more lately. Any advice from veteran kayakers?

There are lots of places around that rent kayaks - REI, Great Outdoor, etc. - so give that a try before buying. You might also want to consider joining the co-op at REI (their version of a frequent shopper card), because that will get you into their garage sales, which are fantastic. I got my kayak for $150 at one of their garage sales!
