passed by again............:(

Published Sep. 6, 2008

Once again I get my hopes up only to have them dashed. The storm played out like I knew it would even though I was still hoping for some good weather. My final stats not that anyone cares. I had a total rainfall of 4.36" for the storm, a high wind of 24 mph at 7:51 this morning and the pressure bottomed out at 29.18" at 5:10 am. A major disappointment. :( It looks like Ike is going to be a no show so I'm looking far out to sea, hoping for a good storm before season's end..................

Well at least it was 24 mph winds. LOLOL Poor baby stayed up all night and nada... you are too cute. ;)

B24car,

I don't know exactly what you wanted. It is NO fun living thru extreme weather. Have you ever done that? Or lost your home to Mother Nature?

They were talking about Andrew today, and at first, they didn't think he would amount to anything.

Josephine has fizzled, so Ike's the one, and they say it's going into the gulf. I did have fun playing with the flashlight, though.

I'm sorry, builder. :(

I had my hopes up too...

Hey builder24, not that we need any Jeff Gordon fans up here, but you should come up to Alaska. Same as you, I enjoy extreme weather. Finally, after the heat wave of 80, when I was stationed in Oklahoma City, where it was blazing, I moved to Alaska. We are truly a land of extremes in the weather dept. I have written Greg Official several times about our prolonged cold snaps. I have sent pics last winter from the "arctic cam" when it was below -45. You could come up here and get your fill of extreme weather. I have seen it over 100 degrees (albeit only for two days in almost 30 yrs) and I have seen it around -74 (although that is hard to measure, most thermometers, even here only go to -60) I had one that went to -80 but it broke. Sorry you were disappointed with the storm, but glad that you guys didnt get hammered with hurricane winds and flooding rains.

we had 5.5 inches of rain in NW Raleigh...no big event. I back up to Crabtree Creek, so that is my only concern...Monday, can we say, flood insurance? I lived thru many more serious storms in Beaufort in the 90's, my house loan required flood insurance, but I never needed it.

The sun is out here, but for some reason, still pretty windy.

hubby had to work all night, so I was home with the kids. I'm very thankful it was such a "disappointment"

That and how they never really got going.............

I was really surprised at how quickly the winds died out.
