palin claim on ebay plane sale doesn't fly
Published Sep. 5, 2008"JUNEAU, Alaska — When Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin sought to illustrate her frugality and flair to delegates at the GOP convention Wednesday, she described how she disposed of a corporate jet acquired by her unpopular predecessor.
"That luxury jet was over the top," Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, said to loud cheers. "I put it on eBay."
Palin's statement implied the plane was sold through the online auction site revered for empowering millions of small entrepreneurs, and Palin's spokeswoman insisted Thursday that the transaction occurred. But the plane failed to sell on eBay.
Instead, the 23-year-old 10-seat Westwind II was sold in August 2007 for $2.1 million to a Valdez, Alaska, entrepreneur; that's about $300,000 less than a broker's asking price, according to news accounts.
Also, while Palin characterized the plane as an extravagance of former Gov. Frank Murkowski, who arranged for its purchase in November 2005, the plane saw heavy use transporting Alaskan convicts.
Alaska does not have adequate prison capacity and contracts for space with a private facility near Phoenix. On Thursday, 24 percent of the 4,546 Alaskans in jail or in prison were serving their time at Arizona's Red Rock Correctional Center, said a spokesman for the Alaska Department of Correction"

Nothing about Obama makes him a flag waving American that the usual politician is. I don't know what he believes or feels about America, but he does see the problems and he has notions of how to attack them. He can project an image that people follow and believe in. He has NO history to back that up. Faith based leadership, and he has used religion about 50x more than McCain. McCain is the most middle ground, loved by many Democrats and hated by many right wingers. Biden and Obama are in the top handful of liberals in the Senate. Palin is able to reach the average man and woman. She's conservative, but independent in nature, appealing to the bunch that don't like either party too much. Biden and McCain are seasoned, and mature. Palin and Obama are youthful and full of wonder. There's clear division between the candidates and tickets.

If McCain has picked so poorly, why the flurry of effort to get her off the ticket?

When considering who to choose as our next president or vice-president, I'll take the candidate that saves $2.1 millon instead of the candidate that spends $0.5 million to "spruce up" his 757.
And if you haven't built up a resistance to it, chloroquine may help with that intracranial pressure.

Whatever. I'm wasting my time. I responded that I agree that the democrat campaign deserves to be hauled across the coals if the smear came from the campaign. In all sincerety, I asked you if you could tell me if it came from the campaign or not. How am I backtracking? I'll apply the same criticisms to all parties. I really don't understand why you responded the way do did.
FWIW, I'm neither democrat nor republican.
I'm done with this part of this blog.

It doesn't really matter,,,supporters of Obama,,,supporters high enough to have the clout for reputable news outlets to print the "rumors" as practically fact and start calling for DNA testing,,,,those supporters are democrats. The rest is just splitting hairs.
Now, keep backtracking and tripping over yourselves. All it does is continue to show the fear and desperation. That's all the Obama supporters (careful not to point fingers at Democrats here) can find against Palin then we have an angel in disguise. I dare you to dig as deep with your own candidates,,,both for president and vice president.
