procrastination

Okay, I've put this off and still want to delay it. See, I'm part of a 'retreat' that will happen in October. I'm one of the team members who will be there to guide and assist the attendees for the long weekend. Though my 'job' is to play guitar, I somehow ended up selected as one to give a 'talk' to the attendees on the last day of the retreat.
Now, giving a talk along lines of christian faith isn't that difficult for me, usually. But this one is different. You see, they gave me a topic and a set of guidelines/outlines to follow so the talk sticks to established form. That's where I started putting off the talk. It's hard for me get 'inspired' to talk on a spiritual topic that someone else selected for me, and in a style that isn't mine to begin with.
We have a team meeting in Winston-Salem scheduled for tomorrow. I'm one of several who is supposed to present my talk for criticism to my peers. Naturally, with a hurricane coming, I figured we wouldn't have the meeting. Well, it's nearly 8:00 pm, the storm is just beginning to arrive, emails are zipping around between team members and no one seems to know for sure if the meeting is on for tomorrow.
Sheba just went ahead and made communion bread for the meeting, which she was scheduled to do, since she hasn't received an answer either.
That now leaves me to try to put together a 20 minute 'talk' that I'm really not that excited about writing tonight.
Sheesh. Guess I'll wait another hour. If I've heard nothing by then, I'll get started. Maybe the storm will inspire me. The topic is 'evangelizing in your environment'.
I wish it was about Noah.

Smorg,,just close your eyes and go with it and when you figure out how you keep getting "voluntered" for these types of positions, please let me know. I get voluntered quite often myself and I wander around, years later, trying to figure out why I'm doing a particular job that I never asked for

My generator broke down and needed some carburettor parts. I got the parts 3 years ago to the day. The impending arrival of Hanna finally made me fix it. Took about two hours (and three years). But it started first pull! Don't suppose I'll be needing it, though. I
