wait, what's that word i'm looking for?
Published Sep. 5, 2008Did any of y'all watch The Daily Show last night? One of his, um, reporters was interviewing some of the Republican delegates and asking them about Bristol Palin's pregnancy. Most of them said the same things (and I agreed with them!): it's a family matter, leave her alone, it was her decision, etc. Only ONE of them slipped up and used that most evil word- CHOICE. How is choice ever wrong? Anyone?

Personally, I am PRO-CHOICE. And no, that's not a re-label. I think abortion is a sad thing, but I don't want anyone taking away that choice. As far as schools, and it's funny you mentioned that, because I'm very much for school choice. That does NOT mean I'm for school vouchers. I'm a big fan of charter schools. But I am not for giving individuals money to enroll their children in religious schools- y'know, because of that whole separation-of-church-and-state thing.

It is not the governments job to regulate or make illegal moral decisions. While she may be pro-choice, it is not up to her to dictate laws that deny the basic civil right of liberty.

The age of consent in Alaska is 16. So it's not rape. Leave her alone. If that is the best you can come up with to find a problem with Sarah Palin (sp) then you are voting for all the wrong reasons. Don't vote or kill yourself now and save us the agony.
Every person has a choice. They can be pro-abortion or anti-abortion. Re-labeling them pro-choice and pro-life is politically correct for "We don't want anyone to look negative." Call the pot what it is, a pot.
YOU CAN NOT LEGISLATE MORAL VALUES FROM A BENCH, IN A LEGISLATURE, OR FROM A DESK WITH A PEN.
The faster you extremist retards understand this, the faster you can hit the 12 step liberal recovery program designed by AA.
Both sides are ridiculous. You are either for or against abortion. This is another reason why we need to kill Political Correct gibberish - it is the reason the country is torn apart.

I like the ones who believe that a person has choice when it comes to their bodies, and when they have the kid....
Here it comes....
They don't like to give the parents choice as to allowing them to be in a good school where they learn reading, writing, math, science - versus the pooh can public schools that teaches PC junk.
I mean after all, why would you want anyone to have choice?

It probably could only be termed as wrong in situations where YOUR situation does not fit MINE, and we would make different choices about very similar situations, even though my choice might be right for me, and you, yours.

Are you seriously that naive??
Clearly, when anyone makes a choice that conflicts with my opinions or my beliefs (or at least my beliefs of that moment, depending on what the voters want to hear at the time), clearly that choice is not only wrong but EVIL... Jeez, woman, where you been at??

Or, possibly, just possibly, they could have meant that, even though the parents are pro life, we all know as parents we have absolutely no control over our children once they reach a certain age and, being pro life, the parents were relieved their daughter had chosen to give her baby life?
I see 2 possible meanings there.
Some people can't see the forest for the trees
