karl rove on selecting a vice president

Published Sep. 4, 2008

There is a blog on this, with a link to Jon Stewart's segment from last night. But since not all can view, I thought it would be nice to see the thoughts Karl Rove had about Obama possibly selecting Tim Kaine, Governor of Virginia and former Mayor of Richmond, as his Vice President nominee.

From CBS Face the Nation on August 10, 2008

With all due respect again to Governor Kaine, he's been a governor for three years, he's been able but undistinguished," Rove said. "I don't think people could really name a big, important thing that he's done. He was mayor of the 105th largest city in America."

Rove continued: "So if he were to pick Governor Kaine, it would be an intensely political choice where he said, `You know what? I'm really not, first and foremost, concerned with, is this person capable of being president of the United States?"

P.E.

Explains much....

Structural or just p**p and water?

I have also staked miles of p**p and water BTW.....

itentical = identical in my 4:30pm world!!! :)

copied from last night's itentical blog, including tmed's comments:

"Kaine would have been a fine pick as a running mate to someone who had more experience than Obama...the top of the ticket was the problem with him"... tmed

I do believe you hit the nail on the head! #2 having less experience than #1 is a possible topic for discussion; #2 AND #1 having scant little experience combined is a possible *disaster*! Hence the reason BarryO picked JoeyB. Now there's a good discussion: #2 having MORE experience than #1! How often would that happen at a fortune 500 company??? Okay, all too often... see also Enron, Worldcom...

Smarter than some GOLO posters, I'm betting as well.

"And since you have such disregard for my career, want to share what you do for a living? And can I get some fries with that?"

P.E.

Nope, handsome black lab. Smarter than most politicians to be sure.

"I'll ask my dog for his take on a candidate before I ask for Karl Rove's."

I'll bet it's an old yellow dog.

"no surveyor, but he's a known republican, and probably working behind the scense with the mccain campaign. and he got on meet the press and said this. so it's fair game."

And it is relevent how again? You are sasuuming he is behind the scenes of this election - why is there such an effort to tie McCain to Bush?

He was the darling republican of the media because of the stands he took against the Bush admnistration - now that he may actually get elected, he's a Bush clone...

Be careful as you straddle that fence...

And since you have such disregard for my career, want to share what you do for a living? And can I get some fries with that?

See, I can be funny too....

Why'd you delete your own post Hockey? I don't like bashing people, and I've got a good golo relationship with tmedlin, but that was funny.

Both Biden AND Hillary said Barack wasn't ready to be President, as in not enough experience...and no, they aren't the only ones who've said that, from within the Dem. party. Heck, Rev. JJ wanted to cut his nutzoff...Kaine would have been an OK VP, if the person at the top of the ticket had more experience than BHO.
