traffic alert: junction road in durham county

RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close a section of Junction Road (State Road 1838) from Rochelle Street to N.C. 98/Holloway Street in Durham beginning Thursday, Sept. 4, weather permitting.  

This section of Junction Road will be closed until the end of October.   Motorists traveling Junction Road needing to access N.C. 98/Holloway Street should use the following signed detour:
  • Ross Road to Chandler Road to N.C. 98/Holloway Street.
  Motorists traveling N.C. 98/Holloway Street needing to access Junction Road should use the following signed detour:
  • Chandler Road to Ross Road to Junction Road.
  The closure is necessary as part of the project to widen Holloway Street.   Motorists are reminded to stay alert, travel at non-peak times and use alternate routes, when possible.  Plan ahead before driving by visiting the NCDOT Traveler Information Management Web site www.ncdot.org/traffictravel or call 511, the state’s toll-free travel information line for current travel conditions.   For more information on this project, please contact the resident engineer at (919) 840-0914.
