A civil discussion about Sarah Palin and her daughter.
I am going to attempt something new here on golo. I would like to have a CIVIL discussion about Sarah Palin and the stories that are now coming out. Please understand this is not a mudslinging, cat fighting, or insult throwing blog. If you cannot respect this please do not comment as they will be deleted or if I find it too difficult to control removed.
OK, Sarah Palins daughter is pregnant. OK, not the best situation to be in running on the platform that she is, but hey, it happens.
Questions that come to my mind, NOT JUDGEMENTS, but questions are: As a right wing conservative (self admitted), how is the GOP going to accept this. I understand her not getting an abortion and applaud her on that decision. Although it is a sin to fornicate sin is forgiven. It is a sin to murder, but sin is forgiven. Thank God, he is a God, of grace and mercy.
I am an independent voter. I am pro life by choice. I believe if a woman is violated, deathly ill, or a victim of incest she has the right between her and God to make the decision about her body. I do not believe abortion should be used simply because you were to stupid use proper protection, or because protection didn’t work, or because of your relationship or income. These are things if your mature enough to have sex you should have thought of. Adoption then is a viable choice. Just my opinion.
Back to Palin, I do question her judgment right now on accepting the VP position. I question as a full time mom, a mother of a child with a disability, and an unwed daughter, if right now is the best time for her to accept this position? I know us women are superwomen, and we can multitask better than any man on any day. However, when it comes to National Security issues, and things are a little chaotic at home, it does come to mind that this can become overwhelming.
Now for my conservative friends, we all know if this were Obama or Biden, you guys would be eating it up, in all fairness.
I am not focusing on who should or should not be President, I am asking and would like to discuss honestly, is Sarah Palin the right candidate for this job at this time. Is there no other viable candidate with a few less issues on their plate to represent the Republican Party?
And, I will address the elephant in the room, as long as it remains civil here and does not resort to immature bashing and spewing hated. With McCain being 72 years old, with past medical issues, is Palin the best decision for his running mate.
My personal opinion is he could have chosen better. With more experience and less baggage. Just my opinion.
OK, let’s discuss this rationally, please people we can have an enjoyable debate about this without insulting one another.

Apparently, Palin LOVED earmarks when her man was doling out the cash. But, then her guy got booted off as chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, and then he got indicted, and almost like magic, Palin became a foe of earmarks.
It's kinda funny how she said she didn't like earmarks only after she realized that her cash cow had wondered off to someone else's pasture.

But, but, Randy, she just made a grand speech about her being AGAINST earmarks. Surely she wouldn’t lie for political reasons ... would she? :)
It doesn’t matter who McCain had picked. He could have picked a rotten banana peel. Republicans will vote Republican. Look at all the ones on GOLO that BASHED McCain BEFORE he was the man. Now they’re coming up with excuses as to why they are going to vote for someone they previously didn’t think worthy. Too funny!

Further, if McCain is elected President, and something dreadful happens to him, or dies in office; then, is she able and experienced to carry the torch? I truly don't see her as Presidental material.
As the topic inferred: I know that her daughter is like hundreds of thousands of teenagers that don't understand the importance of protection. I will not hold this against the Governor. We do not have quality leadership on either side; in my humble opinion.

Regardless of what life throws at us, we all have paths we feel called to follow. I only know what decisions I would have to make for myself. I am not arrogant enough to beleive they would be the right decsions for everyone.

I'd have the exact same criticisms if her dad was running. No PARENT (note that I did not say mom or dad) needs to be up for a job like that when they have a newborn Down's syndrome kid as well as an unwed pregnant teen daughter.
