by Brian ShraderPublished Aug. 29, 2008
From the NCDOT:
RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close I-40 West at Exit 355 (N.C. 403) for bridge repairs from 11 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, and again from 11 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, until 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4. The closures are necessary to perform repairs where a truck hit the bridge span in June.
Motorists traveling on I-40 West are being detoured onto the exit ramp and then continuing on to I-40 West.
The N.C. State Highway Patrol will direct N.C. 403 traffic.
NCDOT reminds motorists to stay alert and encourages motorists to use alternate routes when possible during this period, drive with caution, obey the posted speed limits and allow for extra travel time.
