go with the flow

We have some exciting news in the On-Time Traffic Center!
You often hear me talking about those DOT traffic flow sensors along Interstate 40. You can see the data on the live map on WRAL.COM's traffic section.
I'm pleased to announce that we now can show you that live data on television. We can zoom in and look at speeds on individual sections of the interstate. Green means you won't find any delays. Yellow and orange indicates slower traffic. Red lines show significant slowdowns.
Many of you travel Interstate 40 for some part of your commute, so I'll be using our sensor data very often to give you a good overview of what to expect on your trip.
We also have access to sensor data from I-540 (if we could only get some DOT cameras out there!), the Durham Freeway and even Interstate 95 in eastern and southern parts of our viewing area.
I think this new data is going to give you a big advantage on your commute. I'll be showing it to you every 10 minutes or so on our morning news on WRAL-TV and Fox 50. You can always check it on WRAL.COM's traffic section.
Finally, thanks to everyone who joins us for WRAL News each morning. Everyone on the morning news crew genuinely appreciates your loyalty.
Have a great weekend!
