how do you "accidentally" kill a child?

If you "accidentally" harmed your child, wouldn't you try to get help for it, instead of covering it up?
I mean I would rather face penalities than lose my child. I would get it the help it needed, no matter what.
(I am getting ready to leave, but i did want to ask this question)

He thinks getting her to admit an "accident" happened is the just the first step in getting to the truth.
I'm also reasonably sure he wants to get credit for solving the case...

Makes me wonder why store managers don't step in when something like this is going on; after all, abusing a child is breaking a law, and you'd think they'd want to support that by intervening.

It says that the guy that got the mother out thinks she killed the kill by accident.
The mother's friends say the mother would not kill the child on purpose, but would freak if she accidentally killed her.
