reality check

Published Aug. 28, 2008

I have and will continue to admit that I'm not impressed with either of our presidential candidates.  The truth of the matter is it's the same old situation where I vote for the one that I feel is the lesser of two evils.  It is of my opinion that the lesser of these two evils is McCain.  Now we all know that opinions are like rectums, everyone has one and they all stink.  I would like to know who is trully happy and FULLLY supports the individual running for office.  Please note that I'm not bashing either candidate, I think they are both inadequate for the position.

“Obama's not qualified to serve as Commander in Chief of the greatest Armed Forces in the world, because he never did this nation the honor of serving.” – Rev RB

1980 election: Carter is the only one with military experience. Did you vote for Carter?

1984 election: Mondale is the only one with military experience. Did you vote for Mondale?

Just curious.

"Spaniards were killed in Spain, Indonesians were killed in Indonesia, Britons were killed in Britain, Africans were killed in Africa if somebody comes to your country and kills your people then "you" have been attacked."

My comment was in your response to your assertion that these countries were neutral but attacked anyways by islamic extremist. All these attacks had something to do with the relationship to the U.S.

Spaniards were killed in Spain, Indonesians were killed in Indonesia, Britons were killed in Britain, Africans were killed in Africa if somebody comes to your country and kills your people then "you" have been attacked.

Italy was the breeding ground and hot bed for terrorist attacks, mainly in the 70's.

"NEWSFLASH, flash, Bush ain't running."

I was pointing out yet another double standard when it comes to right-winger's problems with Obama. Was something I said incorrect?

"Had we stayed neutral, we would've been fine." - meh

"Explain that to Spain, Italy, Indonesia, Britan, Africa and all of the other places attacked by radical Islamists." - WB

Spain was a u.s. ally in Iraq. Terrorist hit before the election, probably influenced the eletion, and now they're out of iraq.

Britain - U.S.'s largest ally in Iraq.

Indonesia - Hit nightspot popular with Americans.

AFrica - Hit U.S. embassies.

I'm going blank. What happened in ITaly?

CottonTownRambler,

I don’t recall an Iran Contra affair. :)

rotfl..okay, i will roll over too

Not me. I plan to Blog my opinion after the Republican convention. I expect it will still be close to neutral.

"Why Israel and not, say, Jordan?"

meh, I think you are letting your talking points get in the way of your knowledge, Jordan is our ally.

Jordan may or may not be, don't know THAT much about it. And as far as no muslim country close by, may not have to wait too awfully long for that because it's the #1 growing religion on the planet...which in and of itself, is beyond me. And it really doesn't matter if it's close by or not, muslim terrorists have coordinated unprovoked attacks in too many countries thus far, and they only hope to expand on that. And, any country that still stones a woman to death by "not fighting back hard enough" to prevent a gang rape, IMO, is a backward-azz country (and that's just one example of the repression I'm talking about).

Even staying neutral may not have been enough, not taking their side could anger them too. Remember, we are talking about the radicals.

If you want to show off to try to make your self look tough, you sucker punch the biggest guy in the room.

I agree that we should strive to be fair in international relations for our own good, but also just because we should.
