teaching conditions?
Published Aug. 27, 2008My first days of school has gone pretty smoothly. My students seem to be well mannered and polite, I dont see any issues right off. I do have one problem though. Unfortunate I cannot post the pic because its not saved on this computer but if you go to my profile you can see. Yesterday I was in my room (a mobile unit) for about twenty minutes. Then it started to rain. And rain, and rain. To sum it up, I had my homeroom in the auditorium, and the rest of my classes in the mobile unit used for ISS. Luckily no one is in trouble the first days of school so it was open. Now I love my job, I think everyone who knows me knows that. And I can handle being in this mobile unit because we are going to a brand new school next year. But HAving to wade in 8 inches of water and mud yesterday did not please me. Just had to vent a lil bit. BTW, My summer was awesome, hope you saw the pics of our trip to murrells inlet. Now I am ready to mold these young minds.

Counting the toilet trailers our school now has 21 trailers. Our new school is supposed to open in 2010, but they've yet to dig a hole so I have my doubts. :-)

Yeah, and the administrators know that, so they use it against you. That was one of the biggest reasons I left the profession. I shouldn't be treated worse because I love my job and do it with a passion. Again, I salute you for staying with it.

N-S-D, I love what I do, so I can put up with some of this, although I think I hear thunder... LOL. Put the kids first, I like that idea.

Thanks for doing what you do. As a former teacher, I know it isn't easy and things like this can really wear on you.
