manhunt in my neighborhood, ken smith reporting from the end of my street!

As I got home from work tonight, I was surprised by literally a dozen sheriff's cars zooming around our quiet neighborhood in Eagle Ridge. As I turned onto the street I live, there was Channel 5's news staff with Ken Smith reporting live.
Apparently, a suspect sideswiped a sheriff deputy around the corner from us and fled into our neighborhood. The police currently have a pretty big manhunt going on and are tucked into a corner of the golf course (fourth and fifth hole area) with Highway Patrol and Sky Five helicopters zooming overheard. I saw Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison going by the house as he assisted in the manhunt.
We've received and automated telephone call from the sheriff's office telling us the story and asking us to stay out of the way. So, like the rest of you, I am watching this on TV, but I do have my trusty firearm handy in case the perp tries to come into the house. You never know.
