the election has just been blown out of the water..batton down the hatches folks..this is going to hurt.

Published Aug. 13, 2008

Ok folks, this election if fixing to get blown out of the water. Fox News has just reported that Colin Powell, a republican, will be at the Democratic Convention to proclaim his support for Obama Barack for President. When you think about this, what are the implications for Obama's win if he were to also announce his running mate as Colin Powell? If he does, we might as well stick a fork in it folks.

...and Rush blamed Elizabeth Edwards for not using her mouth for more than talking intellegently. He of course was referring to "servicing" John. These nuts are going to implode in November.

....yeah, but they say it with veins bulging in their foreheads and with a straight face...

"sometimes I watch FOX news to get the other side viewpoint from all the other media. Other times, I watch Fox news because the Comedy channel is showing a repeat...." -blackdog

The only time I watch Faux News is never...they are so Bush-loving biased that I already know all of their viewpoints/talking points/etc...

my god, wakemom - you need to read up - he has over 20 years of military experience, plus has served probably a decade or more on the armed services committee - you should just go to his website and read his bio - it's far too long to educate you here.

what gives mccain so much military experience?

vietnam and about 6 years as a POW should qualify you for military experience............. ladyblue

so bc he was a POW that means he is qualified and has all this military experience that you guys speak of.

OldRebel, true enough, but Ike did pretty well as both President and General (Supreme Commander actually). I don't think that you can build a solid case either way.

I have a lot of faith in Colin Powell in his expertise as a military expert. As for politics...U.S. Grant was also a military expert. Care to know how well his administration did in the White House? On a scale of 1 to 10? Can you say Uno?

I have heard on news report a month or so ago that Colon Powell would not run for any kind of political office because the misses has such strong feelings against politics. And somehow I can't picture a man with such character and love for his country lowering himself to obama's level.

whatelse - I just heard Kerry's name mentioned, too - that's why I included his name in my blog earlier today...we should only be so lucky!

Foreign policy? - Two thoughts; so far Obama's statements relating to Russia's invasion of Georgia are weak and tepid, which does not surprise me. I don't get the point of picking a VP based on foreign policy credentials. I think typically the media and the talking heads make too much of the VP. It is not a job I would want, you might as well plan on picking lint out of your navel during your tenure.
