First off I would like to say Welcome Home RUN TO VOTE TEAM!!! We have missed you so much but enjoyed reading your journey!!!
The Team pulled into a group of people waiting for them to arrive a little after 5 PM. Little did we know so many would come out to hold banners and balloons. Soon the Big Burgundy Beast was in view. Lots of claps and cheers as they got close to us. Then Mr Williams being the silly guy he is drives past us...goes around and again. He parked and here came our Team walking towards us. Greets and Hugs as they found their Parents and loved ones...back in North Carolina where it all began 56 days ago. Mayor Day said a few kind words...what an amazing person to meet and talk to. He asked many questions and I think he was amazed by the journey as he heard what they had done. Mr. Williams asked people to name a State and with each shout out he would tell us a funny story. Mrs. Hineline Thanked everyone who made the trip possible. We ate, had cake, shared stories, and enjoyed having our Team home. Though be sure their trip is not complete yet...Tuesday they are all back at school to get some last bit of work done and clean the classroom on wheels.
Thank You to George's Oxford Village Family Restaurant for Hosting the Teams and Families!!! And really giving more space then we expected we would need.
Thank You To Everyone who brought the Team Home - WRAL, News and Observer's Matt, and Everyone who came out!!!
And to a very Special surprise guest Mayor Day of Stem!!! It was truly an honor meeting you today Sir. Your questions and kind words to the Team was enlightening!!!
One Special Thank You to Ian's Aunt who made a beautiful cake!!!
Thank You Mrs. Hineline and Mr. Williams for all you two have done for our Teenagers this Summer. Words can never express what all you have given. You will always be heroes to all of us!!!
To Ian Morris, Jordan Rank, Itzamara Santillan, Jennifer Walker, and Stephanie Sutherland...Way To Go!!! We can never express how proud we are of each of you!!! You are our heroes!!!
