The last day for the Run To Vote has come. It ended where they had wanted...in front of the White House!!! Hard to believe they have been through 48 States plus Washington DC in just 56 days. They have really made us all proud of the adventure. They have shared their lessons of Politics, People around the United States, the places they have seen, running skills, dedication, turned the now famous van known as the Burgundy Beast into a classroom on wheels, learned to deal with unexpected car repairs, and so much more. What a journey...and a journey that most adult people have never been on. How many of us can say we have been to all 48 States??? Because of what these two wonderful Teachers have offered these Teenagers it will be remembered all their lives. These two Teachers gave unselfishly of themselves...took the Students and guided them on a world wind of just hopes and dreams and turned it into reality. BUT this whole journey could not have been made possible without the help of everyone in the United States...people donated, strangers took this Team in their homes and made impressions, people came out to sign and show support, the Media Coverage kept their dreams alive and let us hear what our youth can do and will do.     Tomorrow August 10th we get to Welcome the Team Home in a job well done!!! Anyone interesting in coming out...

Welcome Home

Awesome!! 48 states. The teachers went above and beyond. Those kids are awesome.

I hope someone puts those teachers on some kind of award. Teacher of NC or something. It sounds as if those two you're referring to have put this things together and offered those kids the challenge. They are also heroes in my eyes.

I agree with you Both!!!

The Teachers should be Awarded something for what they have done.

RUNTOVOTE ROCKS!!! I know the parents must be so proud! And I agree about the teachers. They need to get some type of thanks that can be displayed. This has been awesome!

How wonderful! They all did something that will stick with them the rest of their lives.

What a wonderful accomplishment!!! Looking forward to seeing the team arrive back in Oxford!!

Cynical me thinks something is wrong when someone has to be given a prep rally to go vote.

No one should vote if they are not current on the policies of the politicians and the needs of society.

Once someone reads and discusses a range of issues and positions, nothing will stop them from going to vote.

Voting for voting's sake is contrary to the workings of a democracy. That is what has led to people voting based on negative ads and superficial impressions.

Determine your position on the issues, your priorities; educate yourself as best you can about the issues along the way; talk to friends; forget the debates and TV ads, but read and surf and then vote for the candidates you PICKED. NEVER vote zombie vote a straight ticket, which is what the parties want you to do. Write in Mickey Mouse if you must, but not a straight ticket, please.

DJ--Ugh!!! You can post your poliical ideas elsewhere and I will argue them with you. Leave the kids alone! I think it is so awesome to see teen-agers that can't even vote yet go out there and encourage those who can. This does not only lead to "blind voters" who choose a President do to the best commercial--it also ENCOURAGES young voters to take a part and research each candidate. To find out which candidate most closely holds thier views. Run To Vote is not telling people WHOM they should vote for! They're telling people to get educated and vote! They should have done this four years ago...

:) LOL!
