the finish line

The last day for the Run To Vote has come. It ended where they had wanted...in front of the White House!!! Hard to believe they have been through 48 States plus Washington DC in just 56 days. They have really made us all proud of the adventure. They have shared their lessons of Politics, People around the United States, the places they have seen, running skills, dedication, turned the now famous van known as the Burgundy Beast into a classroom on wheels, learned to deal with unexpected car repairs, and so much more. What a journey...and a journey that most adult people have never been on. How many of us can say we have been to all 48 States??? Because of what these two wonderful Teachers have offered these Teenagers it will be remembered all their lives. These two Teachers gave unselfishly of themselves...took the Students and guided them on a world wind of just hopes and dreams and turned it into reality. BUT this whole journey could not have been made possible without the help of everyone in the United States...people donated, strangers took this Team in their homes and made impressions, people came out to sign and show support, the Media Coverage kept their dreams alive and let us hear what our youth can do and will do. Tomorrow August 10th we get to Welcome the Team Home in a job well done!!! Anyone interesting in coming out...

No one should vote if they are not current on the policies of the politicians and the needs of society.
Once someone reads and discusses a range of issues and positions, nothing will stop them from going to vote.
Voting for voting's sake is contrary to the workings of a democracy. That is what has led to people voting based on negative ads and superficial impressions.
Determine your position on the issues, your priorities; educate yourself as best you can about the issues along the way; talk to friends; forget the debates and TV ads, but read and surf and then vote for the candidates you PICKED. NEVER vote zombie vote a straight ticket, which is what the parties want you to do. Write in Mickey Mouse if you must, but not a straight ticket, please.
