The child is dead and has been for a long time. Could have been drug-related, could have been the child was sold for money and mom's "freedom," or the two-year-old could have simply been a "forgotten" object in the hot FL sun while mom partied.
The child's decomposing body was at one time in the trunk of the car and in the back yard of the grandparents. Someone later moved the body to a more "permanent" location.
