what is your favorite movie scene of all times?

Try to remember every movie that you've ever seen in your life. I'm sure that only a hand full stick out. There must be a reason for this. There must have been something in that movie that touched you in some way for it to have stayed stuck in your mind for all of these years.

I have many, many favorite movies. My Family Is my very favorite movie!  I LOVE Steel Magnolias  And this is my favorite scene from it!  I could watch Fried Green Tomatoes another 10,000 times.

But  the best movie scene (IMO) of all times is from The Color Purple.

It's when Shug marches herself and everyone from Harpos place down to the church, singing "God is trying to tell you something", And makes peace with her father.

So, What is YOUR favorite?

silverdakota, that is a great scene! Forgot about that one.

Buckeye... that is funny!

Two come to mind:

INDEPENDENCE DAY: * Toward the end when they figured out how to kick the "Aliens" tails and Randy Quaid sacrificed himself.

* When the President gave his speech to the troops before the battle.

TOPGUN: The great air battle.

Mine are the scene in Crash, where the Middle eastern man goes to shoot the supposed gang member hispanic and accidently shoot the Mexicans little girl. Ah! That get's me just thinking about it.

The other is Madea Calculating what that bum of a husband owes her granddaughter after throwing her out after 20 years together with nothing. When she said and the sex wasn't that good either and Madea dang near blew the Calculator up. Now that still cracks me up!

The last scene in Field of Dreams...

"Dad, you wanna have a catch?"

"I'd like that".

Almost anything from "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" but in particular, the rental car counter scene and the scene where Steve Martin tries to check into a motel with a smoldering credit card (still smoking from the car catching on fire with his wallet in the glove compartment). That whole movie just slays me!

Chill.. I love that scene from Dairy of a mad black woman too!! BTW... Where you been hidding girl!?!

I like the scene in "Love Actually" when Mark pretends to be Christmas carolers to silently declare his undying love to Juliette (his best friend’s wife). As he leaves she rushes out to give him a brief kiss…he turns and declares, “Enough…enough now”. That scene does something to me.

Oh yea, lol, ALL of Tyler Perry's movies but espically Madea's Family Reunion and the way her brother is always getting on her last nerve and Media grabs her pocketbook for her gun..

Don't forget the scene (Diary of a Mad Black Woman) where she kicks ol' boy to the curb @ sunday dinner and says "I'm going to find my man". I LOVE IT!!!

POTUS (Harrison Ford) to terrorist on Air Force 1 as he throws him off the plane. "Get off MY plane".

Dirty Harry to his boss "I know, You're a legend in your own mind".

(same one Easilyamused likes on Fried Green Tomatoes) - TAWANDA!

Indiana Jones "Rats" (turns to see underground passage full of rats).

Indiana Jones - "Why does the ground move?" - "Asp - not good" (paraphrasing) Indy (rolls on his back) - "Why does it have to be snakes?"

Indiana Jones - Guy jumps up and starts to sword fight. Indy gives a look - pulls his gun and shoots the sword fighter.

Forrest Gump - "I'm not a smart man, Jenny, But I know what love is" (then walks out and puts his hands on his hips with a strange stance).

Steel Magnolias - Olivia says (watching a large woman in tight dress dance) "Looks like 2 pigs fighting under a blanket". Actually that move is full of oneliners I love.

Don't have to think very long on that one...it's the last lines from "Mister Roberts" (1955):

Ensign Pulver: Captain, it is I, Ensign Pulver, and I just threw your stinkin' palm tree overboard! Now what's all this crud about no movie tonight?

My favorite is A Room with a View and the scene is the bathing scene. That scene is so full of hilarity and innocence, it always makes me laugh!

My all time favorite Movie is Mary Poppins. I love the scene where they have the tea party on ceiling. I laugh just thinking about it. Another favorite scene is from the ending of The Wedding Planner. "Someone once told me to only eat the brown ones- since chocolate is already brown".

The Quiet Man...John Wayne riding back to his childhood home in Ireland spots a beauitiful Mary Kate Danahur *spelling, (Maureen O'Hara), walking barefoot in a field, tending sheep.

"Is that real"? That couldn't be real."

Barry Fitzgerald.."That's only a mirage brought on by your terrible thirst".

Julia Roberts to Hugh Grant in Notting Hill:

"I'm just a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love her."

Dang.

Shawshank Redemption...hands down

from the point Red (Morgan Freeman) reads the letter he found by the wall to when he walks up the beach and hugs Andy (Tim Robbins)...simply awesome!

Hope is a beautiful thing...

I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

Top Gun - Kelly McGillis to Tom Cruise "So you're the one?" He smiles and says "Yes, maam". Oh, be still my heart!

Love that scene in Love Actually too!!

Steel Magnolias: when someone asks Sally Field after the funeral if she is okay and she starts yelling that she is fine and says something like "I can run from [somewhere to somewhere far away]... BUT MY DAUGHTER CAN'T. She never could!" and starts crying. Makes me cry every time.

A Few Good Men of course: "You want answers?" "I want the TRUTH!" "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!" "...deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you WANT me on that wall. You NEED me on that wall!"

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid " Who are those guys" throughout the whole movie.

Casablanca: When Louie turns around and looks at Rick pointing the gun at him at Club American. The shock is just great. Also Rick standing at the train station in the rain reading the note that Sam gave him from Illsa. . So many great individual scenes in this movie

allison... click the link for steel magnolias. That is the Exact scene that I have posted, because it is my favorite too!

George C. Scott....Patton.... "You don't win a war by dying for your country.....You win a war by making that other s o b die for his" !!

oh oops. i am at work so i can't really view videos or anything like that. but yes, what a great scene!

You also have to love Rudy. There's a string of events that starts with the grounds crew mentor guy sternly explaining to Rudy that he needs to go back to the last practice even though he wasn't listed to dress for his last game, and then when everyone claps for him when he does go back to the last practice. And THEN when he finally does get in the game and doesn't know what the heck he's doing and then makes an actual tackle in the backfield! And his parents are going crazy and everyone's chanting his name and he gets carried off the field. I cry tears of joy every time I watch that!

EasilyAmused and Wags, those scenes you mentioned are two of my favorites also.

My favorite scene is Donald O'Connor singing and dancing "Make 'em Laugh" in Singing in the Rain.

I love The Color Purple, too. The final scene where she looks on the horizon and sees the purple sarongs blowing and knows her sister is home. I got teary just thinking about it. LOL Also, one of the last scenes in Schindlers List where he is thinking about how many more Jewish people he could have saved if he would have sold his car/jewelry/etc.

holymoly, I just watched Planes, Trains & Automobiles AGAIN last weekend and it is one of my favorite movies. That car rental scene is a great!
