my newest pet!!

This is the newest "rescue" from the horrible Animal Shelter we have in our county. I always go for the most neglected or abused animals!! When I got him, he only weighed 44 lbs, totally tick infested with an infection from the tick bites, and was totally terrified of everything. It was extremely obvious from his behavior that he had been beaten by someone. He had fleas all over too. I have only had him for 10 days, but he has picked up 6 lbs already, the ticks and fleas are gone and the infection as well. He now wags his bobbed tail when I come outside, runs and plays, and is already showing signs of being very protective of me and my property.
It is hard for me to understand why people will not take care of their animals....this dog was an owner surrender!! He is so obedient and will come out and go back into his pen upon command. He is so starved for attention and he gets plenty of that here....plus food and regular vet visits. I may have already spent a bunch of bucks getting him the proper meds and updated on all shots....but he is well worth it!!

Thanks for all the positive comments as I know their are some very well cared pets out there who have fellow goloers to thank for their very existence. An animal only wants a little love and attention and food, but they will usually put themselves in harms way to protect their owner.
