training for major league...
Published Jul. 26, 2008A Brawl on the baseball field between Peoria Chiefs and the Dayton Dragons resulted in 15 players and 2 managers being ejected from the game. They reveresed some of the ejections because there were not enough players to continue the game.. I think they should have called the game off.
The pitcher Juan Castillo (sp?) threw a ball at the opposing team's dug out only he missed and struck a fan in the forehead. He has been charged with Felonious Assault. I hope that he is prosecuted and loses the ability to ever play professional sports.
Your thoughts?

The ball players could come armed, have knives or even guns, but they don't, because that is way over the line. Ball players don't come to the field to fight, but they do when they lose their temper. Baseball players have bats, and the ballz, and the spiked shoes, if they wanted to use them, and don't. Most take off helmets, cast away would-be weapons.
The second part is the "TEAM" effect, when teammates come out to 'stop the fight' or 'protect a teammate.' Hockey fans like the fights. Baseball fans do not. Basketball rarely has fights. One, they are the opposite of padded. Two, they are on the floor in equal numbers. Three, their hands are vulnerable.
That minor league fight will end at least one career. That fan has 1000 letters/calls from trial lawyers.
