is rape just sex?

If the ultimate goal of rape is sex, then why doesn't the rapist just find a willing adult to do the act with?

 

This question is open for anyone, but I wanted some answers from the people that believe rape is just about the sex.

"It has very little to do with sex.Ask a Professional on the topic." Ask a rapist before he commits the act, act him if his goal is to "control another person", or is to have sex. And I'll agree, it's not "just" about the sex. I'm saying that sex is part of the equation in this kind of crime. It's a terrible, sadistic crime...but it is totally disingenuous to say sex isn't involved. Sex is part of the crime.

Surgery of any type won't help the repist be "cured" because it is in the head where the rape starts. The rapist just doesn't say one day, "I'm gonna rape someone." The beginning if the end starts years earlier in the life of the rapist. The beginning of the story can be seen in the teenage years of most rapists.

There might just be one operation that will help. That is a LOBOTOMY. Sticking an instrument through the eye and into the brain and separating part of the brain from the rest of the gray matter. Otherwords "make the rapist a zombie" and take care of him/her for the rest of their lives.

Wonder Bubbles, I can't answer that. Perhaps for a variety of reasons: they are attracted to that specific victim (an acquaintance or date rape), they are so unattractive that they cannot find a willing partner, they don't have money for or access to a prostitute, they are aroused by the act of forcing themselves on someone...people are into all kinds of sick things...I don't know. I never said they weren't all whacked in the head. I can't begin to understand the mentality of a rapist. I agree with ahh-fooie....there are many reasons men rape (control being one of them)...that was my only point from the beginning.

I must say this is beginning to sound like I am bashing Steve's position in this matter. Not true. I agree with some of the things he has said just not all. But the true consenous is..most men feel this way..Steve just has the nabs to tell us in an open forum. It's the male mentality that gets women infuriated and not the source. I hope Steve sees it that way. Wonder, I do appreciate you bringing this to the forefront. Although we agree on most if not all of the issues you present, it is a losing battle. What you have brought to light is the lack of respect for women. While men pretend to be our protectors, they once again show us that simply isn't so. I am sure there are some out there but what I can not change has made me stronger. As Steve put's it..."leftist feminist line of psychobabble garbage". I have adopted a new attitude myself over the years.."I am woman hear me roar!" So be it if men don't understand my position, it makes them the weaker of both sexes not I. Touche'

What can I say....if a person hurt my wife or little girl for a little gratification! I would try as hard as I could to kill him! If I had to walk up the bailiff's back to do it!
