did you notice a drop in gas prices today?
Published Jul 24, 2008Views: 796
Good morning GOLO:
Driving past my gas station of choice this morning, I noticed that the price was down from $4.03 to $3.98.
The sad part is, I actually smiled and felt somewhat grateful. Man, have my standards for gas prices hit a new low.
This is pretty bad.

Unfortunately, there is more lag on the consumer end when prices are falling. I did notice the pumps I go to were down to $3.82 yesterday.

Now I am not an economist, but how come the price of oil doubled, but the price of gas MORE than doubled? If all things were equal, that should put gas at $2.90, not $4.11 a gallon.

But watch out for the BP/Kangaroo across from Sam's Club. I've had 2 experiences where the pumps weren't acting right. The cashier was given $25 cash but the pump stopped at $16. When I went back in to ask what happened, my nephew who was still at the pump said that it suddenly jumped to $20 then pumped gas again. Very fishy!!!!
There have been reports of stations fixing the pumps so you're getting less for your money so watch out.
Put EXACTLY 10 GALLONS of whatever grade you're using in your tank, then look at the dollar amount, if the dollar amount is not EXACTLY 10 times the price of the fuel you have chosen, then the pumps are fixed.
So for example at $3.86 9/10 a gallon, at 10 gallons I should have $38.60 roughly as the price for my gas.
Watch the pump carefully folks!!

So...how many people aren't mowing their yards as often due to the high prices? Fortunately, we live in the country so no one is complaining about our yard. The deer seem to enjoy the extra vegetation, too.
