His note where he is asking "where is everybody" really touched me. Mostly because when my father was in a nursing home, I could only visit in the evenings or weekends because of working full-time. So when I got there to see him, he was always asleep. He slept so much that I hated to disturb him & wake him up, so sometimes I'd just sit there for awhile & then leave. In retrospect after he died, I wondered if he'd thought I never came to see him because he didn't see me very much, so now I'm sorry I did it that way & wished I'd just awakened him every time I was there!! Oh well.

I need to look at this again, maybe from home, because it required an update & I'm not sure if I can do that here at work. I'll have to check.

Nursing homes can be sad places, but wonderful places too when you feel like you're making a difference in someone's life. Sad that most people can't get past "self" to go & visit "loved" ones.
